The Global Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA)
Our Global Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) is the flagship programme in the Faculty of Business and Law delivered part-time, usually over 4.3 years. It is designed for private and public sector management professionals – typically at a senior or executive level – who want to advance their careers through a doctoral degree, while continuing their career. The research focus of the DBA addresses real business issues with the results providing professional outcomes that are of direct relevance to a student’s organisation. There are three intakes per year starting the taught phase in September, January and June. Research phases begin in October, February and April.
Taught Modules 1-4 and the Research Module
Supervisors with experience of supervising at least two DBAs or PhD to completion are sought to mentor students during the first four taught modules (1.3 years) and support students during part two of their DBA, a Professional Research and Development module that spans years 1.6 - 4.3. Students are assigned two Supervisors: a First Supervisor and a Second Supervisor. The First Supervisor delivers mentoring during the taught phase.
*For every student a Supervisor is assigned to support as a First Supervisor, they will be expected to support another student as Second Supervisor for the per-student fee. As the DBA is conducted fully online, the role is suitable for homeworking but at least 4-5 years commitment is required.
Applicants are required to supervise students in one or more the following subjects:
Suitably qualified applicants will join our bank of supervisors. Work is officially offered, and contracts issued, once a supervisor has been matched with a student or students.
Please apply directly via our application portal, only if you have experience of supervising at least two DBAs or PhD to completion.
