The Partnership
In 2020, the University of Portsmouth and CEG Digital partnered to create Portsmouth Online, a portfolio of flexible learning courses which equip students with valuable skills and knowledge, without interrupting income and career progression. All Portsmouth Online courses are developed and led by university academics. We believe that effective online courses need to have high levels of tuition and support, and central to this is the role of the Online Tutor.
The Course
This exciting new MSc course facilitates the personal, professional, and academic development students need to innovate in their existing role or while starting a new business. Students will gain key innovation management and entrepreneurship frameworks to guide the development of constructive business policies and strategies. They will learn to understand the internal and external factors that impact innovation within an organisation and conduct detailed study into markets and customers. They will learn about the financing of business operations, particularly around conducting financial assessments for new products and start-ups.
The Module
This module takes students on an experiential journey through the venture creation process. Students will work in teams to identify, test in a market and develop a business model. The module is designed to provide students with an opportunity to apply their existing knowledge and skills to a real-time project. It presents a capstone experience that allows students to develop their entrepreneurial practice through action and critical reflection.
Please note that as this post is for a self-employed contractor, holders of some Right to Work permits in the UK such as Tier 4 visas are ineligible to apply. If you hold a visa, please check that it enables you to be self-employed.
