Who are we looking for?
We are currently looking for a new Web Developer to join our CEG Digital division, part of the larger Cambridge Education Group.
The role will be on a full-time, permanent basis, with the location set as Homebased (United Kingdom).
The post-holder will be responsible for the development of online modules within our online learning environments. An in-depth expertise in implementing online learning experiences would be preferred but other web development experience would be considered. The post-holder will bring a focus on delivering high quality learning experiences in a sustainable, repeatable manner through the use of various Virtual Learning Environments and Learning Management Systems tools (e.g. Canvas, Moodle).
As such, this is primarily a web development role for online learning, and the learning objects developed will range from bespoke content creation, web pages, graphics, web video, screen casts, online assessments, and other digital documents and presentations.
The post-holder will need to have a balance of at least 3 years of technical expertise in web development, visual/design acumen and an understanding of effective learning design, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and affably with both academic and technical staff. Particularly, the successful candidate should be highly skilled in HTML, SASS/CSS, JavaScript, and PHP with desirable experience in using React and Next.js. Being a creative thinker would be considered an advantage for this role.
Occasionally, the post holder will support other teams with video (production, editing, conversion) and web graphics (Photoshop, Illustrator) tasks, however, these would be considered desirable skills.
